Frequently Asked Questions
Holistic vet care recognises and treats the whole-body condition, not just the immediate symptoms. It approaches the body as a whole. For example, poor gut function can contribute to skin itches, allergies and other problems. In this way, it aims to treat and resolve the cause of the presenting symptoms, not just suppress those symptoms while ignoring the underlying causes, which can lead to a worsening of health over time.
Integrative vet care integrates holistic and natural treatment strategies with conventional diagnostic tools and treatment strategies where indicated, drawing from the strengths and best of both approaches to medicine, for overall best long-term health, wellbeing and longevity.
The aim of both approaches is the best resolution of health concerns for optimal health, wellbeing, vitality and longevity.
Many of our patients have chronic or complex conditions, multiple medical concerns, or are not responding or doing well with regular veterinary care. Sometimes our pet guardians seek us out when they do not want to be dependent on ongoing pharmaceutical treatments and are looking at natural strategies or wanting to resolve the deeper health problems that are leading to chronic symptoms.
